About Fundamentals Training For OpenStack

The current training course offered by Rackspace Cloud Builders is a four-day OpenStack Cloud Fundamentals class offered in two sections: Compute and Object Storage. Registrants may sign up for either or both sections. The first two days on OpenStack Compute, Identity Service, Image Services, and Dashboard while the last two days of the course will be focused on OpenStack Object Storage. The course provides a detailed architectural overview, hands-on experience, and troubleshooting from experienced OpenStack engineers. Classes are limited in size and promote a collaborative approach to building and operating OpenStack clouds.

By the end of this course, learners will be able to:

• Describe the architecture of a basic OpenStack Cloud deployment
• Define the key features of OpenStack
• Identify suitable use-cases for OpenStack
• Deploy an OpenStack Compute multi-server environment
• Create and manage images and instances
• Create and manage roles, users and quotas
• Deploy an OpenStack Object Storage multi-server environment
• Use the CLI to perform routine tests and file manipulation
• Manage roles, permissions, and ACLs
• Perform basic troubleshooting for OpenStack deployments
• Find additional OpenStack help and support resources
